Good News from the USA |
|
After discovering residue in the oil filters during July ground runs in Lahr the committee made the decision to return the newly refurbished engine to the manufacturer in the United States without conducting any further testing, so that the cause of the malfunctions could be determined promptly, and professionally. After shipping the engine back to the US several weeks ago, the following good news has reached Switzerland; the engine was examined, and cleaned thoroughly by Anderson Aeromotive. After a final inspection, it underwent several ground test runs, including a full power ground run. The test results showed no further problems or shortcomings. Two of the SCFA's own mechanics were present to witness all inspections and ground runs. Further investigations are being conducted to determine the cause of the residue found during ground runs at Lahr. The engine is now being prepared for the transport back to Germany. Sincerely, the SCFA Committee
