More engine problems for the Connie

The new engine which was refurbished by Anderson Aeromotive, underwent several successful test runs in the USA at the end of July 2012. It was then rushed to Lahr thanks to the efforts and support of Lufthansa.
On August 8, we conducted ground runs, which lasted approximately 75 minutes; the result was more than satisfactory, and no problems were noted.
Following the ground runs were extensive checks which were completed on August 9. Upon completion, metal chips were discovered in the oil filter, an alarming indication that something is wrong and requires immediate attention.
We are working closely with Anderson Aeromotive in order to determine the cause of this problem. This will take up additional time.
We are hopeful to find the cause of the problem within a few days, and will do our best to keep you updated as to the progress of the situation
