After having finished subsequent work required as a result of the controls of the FOCA, we received the permit to fly on May 25, 2012. Additional technical problems with two engines were unrelated to last winter’s maintenance work. These were defects, which could happen anytime with any aircraft. We could solve them prior to our flight to Lahr on June 1 and the beginning of the check- and training flights for our pilots. During the second part of this training we had to shot down engine no. 2 due to a decreasing oil pressure combined with a rising oil temperature. The detailed control revealed that the propeller gear was damaged and an engine change is necessary in Lahr. The respective preparatory work has already been initiated. Therefore, all flights until the weekend June 16/17 have to be cancelled.
